The first materials for One D&D are available and the internet, reliably, has a lot to say
Reactions to Wizards of the Coast's playtest of the first Unearthed Arcana drop of One D&D rules - which some are calling 6e, the impending generational leap from Dungeons & Dragons 5th Edition - are many and varied. Fans on social media have been checking in all along a spectrum ranging from bemused excoriation to cautious optimism.
Below you'll find an assemblage of responses to the announcement and the new rules. I did my best to provide a balanced viewpoint, with some positive and some negative feedback. Many fans have high hopes for what lies ahead, but not everyone is as optimistic.
If you haven't responded to Wizards' playtest survey, you may find food for thought in the following content. Don't forget, the survey is only available until September 15th.
"Feats no longer being an optional rule means they're required to balance them somewhat and I think that's going to be healthier for the game overall. Everyone starting with a feat is something my tables have been houseruling for a long time." - MistyRhodesBabeh |
"I think we should all like that they are asking for the community to give feedback." - Game_Knight_DnD |
