Hello and welcome to Tabletop Courant!
This will be the written hub for my tabletop RPG-related content. I've been designing modules in my spare time for the last couple of years and have come to the conclusion that I'd like a unified space to tie it all together.
Who am I?
My name is Ben. I'm a writer, worker, husband, father, son, friend, and, among other things, a consumer and designer of games. Any kind of game, honestly, but something about the bond of sitting down at a table with close friends and sharing an experience really gets me. It's such a unique fellowship, I love it.
A stranger is just a friend you haven't played Dungeons & Dragons with yet, as they say (pretty sure that's how that one goes).
What the heck is a courant?
Courant: a newspaper; a heraldic animal presented running; a romp or caper
This is my favorite new word. After a couple of days of mulling over what to brand this project, the subject of defunct newspapers crossed my mind and led me to "courant," and I'm glad it did. It's so versatile for a tabletop platform. Whether I'll be talking about existing products or stamping the name on a fresh jacket cover of my own work, it fits any way you read it.
What will we find on this blog?
On the writing front, I have one big adventure and a handful of smaller projects in the works. I love game design, which includes minigames, tinkering with existing rules, and creating new content. I'll be learning a lot of new stuff to make all of this presentable and I hope to share some of the process in the hopes that it can guide other aspiring creators.
I have a little experience with multimedia and have ideas about videos that could slot nicely into the existing pantheon of tabletop media. I've participated in a lot of tables over the years and believe my experience can help others have a better time at theirs. Practical, functional advice seems lacking in the hobby, so I'll be focusing on that and trying to avoid long, conceptual rambles.

Hello, friends!
A quick post to get us started. I've been thinking a lot about what to do with this place as I plug away at writing adventures and the like. Thinking a lot - thoughts on thoughts, now to share some of them. Tabletop gaming, particularly roleplaying games, has been a passion for a long time and I'm excited to add to the hobby.
Anyhow, thanks for stopping by, feel free to share thoughts, suggestions and feedback as we go.
